Weaknesses
I think the website doesn’t make good use of the space on the screen very effective. The site is consistent in having the same layout on each page but I believe the layout of the page is not professional because the page is centred leaving the left and right edges blank. This is a waste of space and it is difficult for the user to read the text because it is all cramped in the centre of the page and the user needs to keep scrolling down to read all the information.
The homepage looks overcrowded with text and pictures. It is very difficult for the user to allocate the pages or information needed because there is no clear structure or navigation bar for the user. The website contains a lot of external and internal links which can be difficult for the user to use because they can get lost.
In my opinion the website uses too much colour for the text within each section. The web designer has changed the colour so that it stands out but I think this can be off-putting for a user when they keeps revisiting the website. The website needs to use more neutral colours.
Strenghts
One of the strenghts of the website is that you can view all the organisations and companies recruiting and add all the jobs that you are interested in to basket and view these later. This makes it easyer for the user because you can decide on many jobs rather than keep going back to the page and view all the jobs again. This saves time.
Tasks
For the task to be performed on website i have chosen to first search for a job. When typing in appropriate fields the search is completed and comes up with a list of jobs which are related to the job criteria. If you haven’t typed in a certain field criteria the search will not happen and an error message will appear informing the user they have forgotten to add information to one of the boxes.
The second task I attempted was to register my C.V which again I had to fill in another form. When completing the form I had to upload my C.V, but when browsing for my C.V an error message kept occurring informing me that the size of the file was to big.
